AIforce: Salesforce Opens Its CRM to Any AI Interface — What It Actually Changes

IA

On September 15, 2026, during the Dreamforce main keynote, Salesforce announced AIforce: an interface layer that exposes CRM data, workflows and business logic to any AI application or interface, without requiring the user to open Salesforce itself. According to the official announcement, the goal is to make accessible "all the enterprise knowledge locked inside Salesforce" — until now limited to those using the application directly.

What AIforce actually does

Technically, AIforce exposes Salesforce data, workflows, business logic, semantics, permissions and governance through a headless toolkit, accessible via the Model Context Protocol (MCP), APIs, plugins and skills. Two safeguards are documented in the official announcement: access stays bound by the user's existing permissions and business rules, and the business data sent to answer a question is not retained by model providers ("Zero Data Retention").

  • Claudeforce: "Salesforce in Claude" with 37 prebuilt sales skills, plus a Salesforce Development plugin for Claude Code (40+ skills) — in beta for all customers
  • Slackforce: Slackforce Surfaces for interactive, live data interfaces in Slack, a personal Slackbot assistant, CRM functions directly inside Slack
  • Agentforce Coworker: an AI teammate built into the Lightning interface, activated with one click — 100,000 users activated within the first 35 days, per Salesforce
  • Pilot customers cited by Salesforce for "Salesforce in Claude": Deloitte, GitLab, Legora

What isn't known yet — and shouldn't be guessed at

The official announcement explicitly states that "pricing and availability are subject to change and vary by region." No general availability timeline is given beyond Claudeforce's current beta. Several third-party blogs cite specific general-availability dates for AIforce as a whole; since these dates do not appear in Salesforce's official announcement, we are not repeating them here.

What this means for your business

  • If your teams already work primarily in Slack or Claude: AIforce (via Claudeforce and Slackforce) lets them reach Salesforce data without switching their main working tool — worth evaluating first if adoption of the standard Salesforce UI has been a friction point
  • The "Zero Data Retention" model and adherence to existing permissions are the points to have your security team validate before any pilot — request the full technical documentation, not just the marketing announcement
  • Since pricing isn't set at this stage, don't budget for AIforce based on a third-party estimate — ask for a quote tied to your actual Salesforce setup
